The SkyMate app
SkyMate works without an account. It doesn’t sell personal data, show ads or track you across apps and websites.
Your precise location stays on your iPhone and is used for sky calculations. When the app fetches weather (Apple WeatherKit) or space weather, it sends a location rounded to about 1 km. Satellite orbits are downloaded without sending your location.
Ask SkyMate runs on your iPhone. Your questions, notes, horizons, searches and observations aren’t sent to SkyMate’s servers.
Purchases are handled by Apple. RevenueCat checks your SkyMate Pro status using an anonymous ID; it never receives your location, horizons, journal, searches or observations.
This website
skymate.space sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising scripts.
To show sky times for your area, the site uses the approximate city your hosting provider derives from your IP address. It’s used to calculate the page and isn’t stored or logged by SkyMate.
“Use my location” is only used when you tap it. Your browser’s low-accuracy position is reduced to the nearest city on our server, used once to calculate the page, and never stored.
Waitlist emails
If you join the waitlist, your email address is passed to AppMate, which runs the waitlist for SkyMate as a processor.
It’s used only to tell you when SkyMate launches. If you also tick “development updates”, you’ll get occasional updates too.
Waitlist emails are deleted within 30 days of launch, unless you opted in to updates.
Questions and requests
To ask what’s held about you, or to have it deleted, use the contact details in the full privacy policy or the SkyMate support form. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone.
